Recorded live at Mr. Roboto Project in Pittsburgh, PA on 29 September 2018. Recording quality is a little rough, and I’m singing a little off key at parts. But this is/was the only This Active Dad show! And I don’t see another one happening. There was one other concrete plan in 2014, where I was going to play an acoustic set, but that show was cancelled.

“Soundtrack for Sand - Part 1” is pretty rough so I’m not including that. Playing the keyboards live was very foreign to me, so it was kind of like a warm up.

“Clouding of Linen” and “Benthic Return” are from The Beautiful Master and I like the way these versions turned out.

“A Solemn Tale of Filial Vengeance and Shame” is from Shame, which came out a month before this show. I probably should have done more material from that album, but the problem I always ran into for a This Active Dad show was how to distill everything down to a solo rendition. Although I’m not sure why I didn’t try to work out a version of “The Pores of the Crass Dancer” or “A Prurient Enigma and Such” or the title track. Maybe I was sick of mixing/listening to them for the last few months.
